Who we are and how Frozen Woofys™ came to be…

During the dog food scare of 2007, the inventors of Frozen Woofys, Linda and Mike Drei, started to really pay attention to what their beloved Border Collies were eating.  They were amazed that so many products on the market had ingredients that were either processed or contained ingredients that the “common man” would never know what they were.    

During this time the couple was eating fresh pineapple one day and laughed as Oscar (their older Border Collie/ Australian Cattle Dog mix) was going totally crazy, he gave them his  “Border Collie eye” for some of their pineapple. "We had no idea a dog would like this type of fruit" said Linda. After some investigation, Linda found out that pineapple was good for dogs and specifically their joints. So they continued to give them to him as a treat. As things moved forward, they found that he had a love for strawberries, bananas and lots of other fruits. As the research continued, it was found these fruits also contained many healthful vitamins and minerals that were very good for dogs.

In 2006, the couple adopted their two youngest puppies when they were 8 weeks old.  Enter Skylar and Maverick into the house. What fun with little puppies running around everywhere.  These pups, along with Oscar are known to be Frisbee dogs and theirs were no exception.  Ice cubes became a very popular treat in the house.  On the hot days, they would just take a turn getting the ice cubes out of their bowl.  They would relax and enjoy!

Gee, what about a frozen treat that would be refreshing and nutritious for our pets?

As they began to look at and access similar products in the marketplace, during some of the label reading, Linda noticed that it just didn’t seem like all the sugar and the fat would be good for her boys.  They weren’t bad, but they just were not as nutritious as she would like to see for dogs.

Her recipes were developed and Frozen Woofys were born.  Frozen Woofys are organic, all natural frozen treats that are refreshing and nutritious for our canine friends!  The perfect frozen combination of fruit taste and nutrition and refreshing cold that ice cubes offer.  By the way-Frozen Woofys are great in winter time too! More importantly, when they tried the treat on their dogs, they LOVED them! So they set out  to talk to all of their friends who gladly tested all the recipes on their dogs.  The treats were a huge success!  It did not take long for dogs all around the neighborhood to know what “Frozen Woofys” meant”; Say the word the and dogs went right to the freezer! 

Thus, LMD Research & Development LLC and LMD Products, LLC  was formed.
